Everything Good
By John Riedy*****
Replaced an older non-digital Audiovox with this model. Everything worked fine. Had to drill new holes in cabinet, but it went in the same location with a bit bigger footprint. It didn’t come with an antenna, but we used the old antenna. Gets broadcast channels just
fine with a little antenna tweaking. Picture looks great. Haven’t used DVD feature or the radio much, but it’s nice to know it’s there for a bonus.
Great unit and value

I bought this Audiovox just over 18 months ago to replace a Magnavox which died after just under a year of use (the LCD Screen stopped working). I considered the Sony, but the Sony is more than double the price and I did not think it was worth it. I am very happy with this unit. It is much sturdier than the Magnavox, and appears to be all metal, not plastic. The buttons and controls are very well layed out and easy to find and they feel sturdy as well. I was always afraid of breaking the buttons on my old unit since my hands would be dirty when I was hitting them, therefore I would be trying to use a knuckle or do it with my washing gloves on.
Installation was easy (about 15 minutes) and just like a previous reviewer, I did wind up swapping out the supplied screws with flat-head wood screws. This makes a big difference. Using the flat head screws so they would be flush with the cabinet surface means they do not interfere with the dishes I store in the cabinet above the TV. Picture is fair using an Analog Cable connection, but this is a 9″ screen, so I wasn’t expecting to be blown away. Watching a DVD though the picture looks great and the sound is perfect for the kitchen.
won’t last long

This is second Audiovox I purchased basically because the others are less known names. Out of the box, it seemed like a ggod TV. However, first unit VE700 screen went blank after about 1 year. This new unit lasted 10 months. Developed annoying buzzing sound after 7-8 months and now screen has green lines across all channels. Warranty is only 90 days. Not worth hanging under cabinet only to remove in such short time.
