And while that’s as arbitrary of a reason to celebrate a day as any I’ve ever heard of, I’ll take it – mostly because unlike upcoming actual holidays like Halloween and Christmas, “101010? day requires me neither to dress up nor to go holiday shopping.
One is that computer programming class I took my freshman year of college, the one which convinced me how much I didn’t want to be a computer programmer. I’m not talking about super-long binary numbers, just the casual ones.
It’s just some grade school arithmetic, folks: 2+8+32. But here’s the kicker: the recent Coldplay song “42? and the eighties band “Level 42? aside, the first thing that comes to mind when I hear the number “42? is the good old Hitchhiker’s Guide To the Galaxy. Just don’t ask me what the question was.
