Added a new flat screen to the bedroom and was looking for something compact and clean that gave good sound. This works awesome! Mounted on the wall just below the TV with the subwoofer tucked right next to cabinet on the floor. Very professional looking, very clean and discreet. While the sound of a 5.1 system is fuller, this set up is perfect for the bedroom, small house or apartment. Crisp, clean sound that is plenty loud for me without all the ugly speakers and wires running all over the place. Think it might fall short in a big living room, but for what I was looking for, it’s perfect.

What I Needed: A solid sound system to accompany my new 46″ Samsung 1080p LCD and PlayStation 3 Blu Ray player. Living Room is medium/small and my wife doesn’t want the entertainment system to “overwhelm” the room. Back walls are exterior walls recently filled with spray insulation; not very easy to run speaker wire in. With all of these variables I opted to go with a Sound Bar; I was tempted to go with the cosmetically-matching Samsung unit but the reviews were not so hot.
I got the Sony HTCT100 for a good price from Amazon, delivered to my house. Setup was FAST AND EASY, done in 10 minutes. Blu Ray audio is AMAZING! True surround sound? Not really. But amazingly clear and powerful. I was particularly impressed with the quality of the subwoofer; very powerful without any distortion. The best part is the subwoofer is behind our TV stand and the sound bar is very compact so you don’t even see it. When guests come to watch a movie and hear all of that sound they look around in amazement wondering where it’s coming from. It feels like you’re in a theater.
Very impressive unit, especially for the price. As long as you’re not expecting a high-end surround system (which would cost you 3 or 4 times as much) and you don’t have an enomous room to fill with sound you’ll be very happy with this product.

I bought this item over 6 months ago. I’ve compared all the soundbars on the market at the time, and this was the way to go for sound/price. As for inputs, it suited me perfectly as I only use HDMI (PS3,TV,PC). Great sound, but don’t expect 5.1 surround…
check out the avsforum .com site and search for the Sony HTCT. A lot of great support and information on this piece of equipment. DaWriter has great settings to boost the performance of the unit.
$255 is a good solid deal, but i’ve seen this go down to $200.
